Following his departure from 1576 last week, Adrian Jeffery has announced that he is to team-up with his former 1576 colleagues Brian McGregor and Tamsin Andell, to launch a new bespoke advertising agency.

Mightysmall, the trio’s new agency, will open its doors officially on 1 October, with an office located on Leith Walk.

The agency, which already has six clients, will aim to offer “direct access to the people who will actually do the strategic thinking and creative work on their business.”

The three directors aim to keep the number of employees at the agency to a minimum to assure clients that they will always have direct access to senior staff.

Explained Jeffery: “Mightysmall gives us the perfect opportunity to work collaboratively with Scotland’s most creative thinkers, on all kinds of interesting briefs.”

Jeffery resigned from the business he helped to launch at the end of June, however his contract at the agency finished just last week. He will now go straight into work alongside former 1576 senior art director, McGregor.

Jeffery and McGregor will oversee Mightysmall’s creative output, while Andell, also formerly of 1576, will be responsible for client services.

Mightysmall is also aiming to become an “ideas resource” to other companies looking to purchase any creative thinking.

McGregor commented: “People who start agencies always say the early days, when their fledging companies were at their smallest, were their most fun, rewarding and productive. By keeping things forever small and personal, we’re aiming to foster that ideal.”

Meanwhile Ruth Lees, another former board member of 1576, has launched her own planning consultancy, Brandmad.

Lees, previously planning director at 1576, will offer her knowledge and experience to agencies and companies while also linking with “creative thinking” agencies such as Mightysmall in providing solutions for clients.

Said Lees: “Many agencies and companies are looking for a way of integrating planning but only when and where they really need it, when it can really make a difference to their business. That’s where Brandmad comes in.”
