Professional Scottish rugby union team, The Glasgow Warriors, has appointed The Big Picture to create and implement all its marketing activity for the forthcoming 2007-8 season.

The Big Picture, the advertising and design agency based in Glasgow and Aberdeen, takes over from previous agency Newhaven.

“We’re excited to be working with The Big Picture,” said Glasgow Warriors chief executive Ian Riddoch. “They’ve already impressed us with their immediate understanding of our brand, and fired us up with their fresh creative thinking.”

The creative remit will cover all marketing, above and below the line. The club, which this season moves to a groundshare at Partick Thistle’s Firhill ground, has set clear business objectives of increasing home attendances and building on the strong fanbase within Glasgow.

The Glasgow Warriors season kicks off at Cardiff Blues this month, and the first wave of advertising is likely to include spots on Radio Clyde and other media.
