CITIGATE READYFOR SCOTS RE-ENTRY

Following the closure of Edelman’s Edinburgh office, former managing director, John Mullan has been hired to head up the new Scottish office of Citigate Dewe Rogerson Public Policy.

Mullan, who is currently on gardening leave, will begin his role as MD of the new PR office in September, based in Edinburgh. This move will be Citigate’s first into Scotland following the sale of its Scottish businesses to Media Square in 2005: “Citigate Dewe Rogerson has decided to create its own public policy offering because increasingly clients, both in the UK and internationally, demand it,” said Citigate Dewe Rogerson London MD, Simon Mayyar. “They want public policy advice in the same way that they want advice on financial investor relations and corporate PR.”

Mullan will initially be in charge of “a high level” team of two or three members of staff with the intention of “growing it quickly”. “This is a huge investment and endorsement in Scotland and the recognition that Scotland really matters as a public policy centre which we are seeking to demonstrate by doing this,” added Mayyar.

Citigate Dewe Rogerson also has offices based in London and Brussels.
