Leeds-based digital agency New Media Collective has changed its name to Numiko.

The decision was taken to signify the next stage of the firm’s development and to move away from the ‘new media’ tag, which the company’s bosses felt no longer reflected the discipline and offering the agency provides.

Numiko, which has long been an internal nickname for the agency, is the phonetic deconstruction of the old New Media Collective moniker.

A new identity has been developed by Leeds-based Design Project, and the agency has launched a new website to help launch the Numiko identity.

Managing director Dave Eccles, who

co-founded the agency in 2000, said: “The past seven years have been an amazing journey, and in that time we’ve built our reputation through our hard work, determination and talent.

“This next chapter is an exciting time and we look forward to working with all our clients and driving the business forward.”
