Paul Bramwell, managing director of Universal McCann in Birmingham, has left the agency.

Bramwell, who has been with the media buying group for around 10 years, resigned his position in April and is now on gardening leave until October.

The media buying arm of McCann Erickson Communication House has recently won business with Hitachi and Willowbrook and continues to work closely with the agency’s advertising team on a number of accounts.

Dean Lovett, chief executive of McCanns in Birmingham, confirmed that following Bramwell’s departure, the media department had been restructured with Andy Aston, a former board member at BJK&E in London, being promoted to head up the media department.

Aston joined the Universal McCann team as channel planner in 2006 after seven years with BJK&E. His role in London involved handling the Mercedes-Benz and smart accounts.
