AG Barr is poised to launch a £1million advertising campaign to promote its spring water brand, Strathmore, to widen its appeal and take on rivals Volvic, Highland Spring and Evian.

This is the first campaign by the Scottish drinks manufacturer, the owner of IRN BRU, since it purchased the water brand last summer.

The Leith Agency has created the TV campaign which will break this month and which will be supported by on pack promotions and an outdoor poster campaign. Leith were appointed without a pitch earlier this year.

Jonathan Kemp, commercial director at AG Barr has stated that the brand will not receive an overhaul and to “broaden its appeal outside of restaurants.”
