Andrew Hunter has been appointed as chairman of Edinburgh design consultancy, Redpath.

Hunter, who joined the agency as joint creative director in 1996 moves into the role having worked in the Scottish design industry for nearly 40 years.

Prior to joining Redpath, Hunter was managing director at Tayburn.

“I suspect chairmen get a much better class of lunch than mere designers,” said Hunter. “While I’ll still have a hands-on role with certain clients, I’m hoping that by freeing up more time I can add more value strategically for Redpath.”

“Having recently reached a significant ‘milestone’ age, Andrew and I discussed how best to use his energy, experience, skills and contacts and the more ambassadorial chairman’s role seemed a perfect fit,” said Richard Irvine, managing director of Redpath.
