McCann Erickson Birmingham has strengthened its hold on the Harley-Davidson business by winning the Europe, Middle East and Africa through-the-line creative account for the motorcycle brand.

The brief is focused around pursuing the company’s strategies of promoting the relevance and attainability of Harley-Davidson motorcycles in the EMEA region.

McCann Erickson Birmingham, which won the UK Harley-Davidson business last year, will now act as central lead agency working with Harley-Davidson’s UK-based European marketing team and network of existing country agencies.

Harley-Davidson’s European marketing director, John Lewis, said: “We are intent on fulfilling the dreams of a great many more Harley-Davidson customers in the future and McCann Erickson is the right partner to help us achieve our goals.”

McCann Erickson Birmingham group account director Jamie Heath, who will lead the account, reporting into John Lewis, said: “We’re very proud to be working for Harley-Davidson Europe. Harley-Davidson is without doubt a genuinely iconic brand globally. We’re all very much looking forward to working with John and his European team as well as with their in-market colleagues and network of agencies across the region.”

Lewis said the brand was impressed “not only with McCann’s creativity and holistic approach but also with the people involved”.
