Following the fire which destroyed a five-storey building Manchester’s Northern Quarter yesterday, CIDS (Creative Industries Development Service) has offered to help the creative businesses that were affected.

CIDS has made available a desk in its Oak Street office, also in the Northern Quarter, and is seeking out further help for victims of the fire.

More than 120 firefighters were needed to tackle the flames after the alarm was raised around 6am on Monday morning. Embers from the blaze are believed to have been the cause of a second fire in the adjacent building.

The Northern Quarter is home to several creative companies, including a number of advertising, design and PR agencies.

If you or anyone you know has been affected by the fire, please email info@cids.co.uk or call 0800 169 1143. Similarly, if you have space available to temporarily house one of the companies/individuals that have been displaced, please contact CIDS as soon as possible.
