Lisa Gardiner, who resigned as director of sales and marketing at Manchester-based With in November, has launched a new agency in the city with creative Robert Fowler.

Wonder Associates has already picked up briefs with Selfridges, the British Council and Hyde Park Picture House, and was this week appointed to create branding for this year’s Greater Manchester commemoration of the bicentenary of the Abolition of the Slave Trade Act.

Gardiner, who has taken on the role of client services director, said: “We wanted to avoid the clichés and stereotypes associated with the slave trade.

“What we have created is a contemporary brand drawing upon slavery’s lasting legacy of storytelling. It should generate real curiosity and resonance with the target audience.”

Gardiner’s former agency has announced the arrival of Andrew Savill from One Creative as its new business development manager.
