Edinburgh and Glasgow Universities have combined their student newspaper advertising sales teams to offer advertisers access to a combined student readership of 36,000.

The newspapers are distributed in over 40 locations throughout both universities and are backed by Edinburgh University Students Association and Glasgow University Students Representative Council.

As part of the move, Edinburgh University has expanded its media sales team by four full time members of staff.

Marketing director Tony Foster said: “These papers offer editorial written by and about the relevant student community. Advertisers will benefit from the trust students place with these papers on a local level. This is the first stage of a number of media options available to advertisers which target directly the lucrative youth and student market in central Scotland.”
