Rapier West has been appointed by pet insurance company, Petplan to develop a key part of its direct marketing programme.

The Bristol based agency was appointed following a two way pitch, to develop a new direct mail communication programme for Petplan aimed at converting periods of free insurance into full annual policies.

Paul Handley, managing director of Rapier West said: “When you look at the evidence behind the need for pet insurance, it’s surprising that it hasn’t become a must have for every pet owner in the UK. We are proud to be working with Petplan and look forward to demonstrable results.”

Petplan was formed in 1976, and has benefitted from the market growing to be worth over £250 million.
