Animation Company, The Neighbourhood has been commissioned by a joint venture between Urban Splash and Marketing Birmingham to develop visual content for a giant LED art screen located on the Rotunda Building.

The ‘Gallery in the Sky’ is the first stage installation of plans to continue the screen 360 degrees around the circumference of the Rotunda roof.

Jon Humphreys, creative director of The Neighbourhood, commented: “The interesting aspect for us is to develop imagery that can relate contextually to the architecture and the city in such a prominent location, to take an approach that differs from the large broadcast screens in our cities that bombard us with constant messages.”

Manchester based, The Neighbourhood was formed six months ago and has already worked on projects for Nike, Urban Splash, Make Architects and are currently developing broadcast material for the launch of Sony’s Playstation 3.
