Talk 107 is continuing to fail to set Edinburgh alight, although it has announced a slight rise in its listening figures in the latest Rajar results.

The station – which launched in February this year – revealed that 7,000 more listeners had tuned in in quarter three of the listening period. Its share rises from 0.2% to 0.4%.

Real Radio Scotland’s overall listeners hit its highest with 736,000 adult listeners tuning in. Its two rivals – Radio Clyde and XFM – are attracting 685,000 and 308,000 respectively.

Clyde 2 – the figures for which are included in Radio Clyde’s overall figures – saw its reach quarter on quarter fall 14.6 per cent to 274,000 out of a TSA size of 1826.

Saga 105.2 FM saw its reach increase by 7,000 to 229,000.

According to Rajar, listening to the radio via the internet has risen by 13 per cent year on year, while listening at least once a week has risen by 28 per cent. Listeners to digital-only stations have risen by four per cent quarter on quarter, but 16.7 per cent year on year.

There’s been a slight rise of 0.1 per cent of the UK adult population listening to radio programmes via their mobiles, but still only 7.1 per cent do.
