London-based design agency Smith & Milton has announced plans to launch an office in the North of England later this year. The agency revealed that the decision to launch the new office had been inspired by wins with “a major retailer and a major food group,” both based in the North.

Lawrence Barnett, client services director at Smith & Milton, commented: “Increasingly, we’re finding more opportunities in the North and we’re servicing more Northern clients than we have in the past. So we feel the time is right to take an office up there.”

The agency is currently recruiting for a business development manager to head up the new office, which is likely to be opened in Leeds. “It’s an obvious choice for a location as we’d be able to service clients from Leeds, Manchester, Bradford; all across that Northern strip,” said Barnett.

While the office will begin with just one member of staff, Barnett has indicated that new business success could see the team increase quickly.
