Furniture retailer DFS is understood to be reviewing its advertising account, which is currently handled by Leeds-based PWLC. A number of agencies are believed to be in talks with the marketing team at DFS regarding forthcoming campaign activity, which could lead to a long-term appointment.

It is not yet known whether the discussions will lead to a formal pitch, as the firm has shied away from such procedures in the past.

Marketing director for the firm, Andrew Trofimowicz, was unavailable to discuss the review at the time of going to press.

It is also not clear whether PWLC and Sheffield-based Uber, which has handled a number of advertising campaigns on a project basis in the past, will be involved in the review proceedings.

Former PWLC MD and co-founder Mike Phillipson also refused to be drawn on whether his current agency Propaganda, which he joined last year following his departure from PWLC, is speaking with Trofimowicz and his team regarding the review.
