Alliance & Leicester Commercial Bank has appointed Brazen Live, the specialist events division of Manchester-based PR consultancy Brazen, to manage its programme of events as official partner for Liverpool - European Capital of Culture 2008.

Brazen Live’s six-figure contract will run for three years and was secured in a three-way pitch. The brief requires the firm to maximise Alliance & Leicester Commercial Bank’s presence at high-profile events scheduled in the run up to and during 2008. Such events include the Matthew Street Musical Festival, Clipper Round The World Yacht Race, Summer Pops and the Open Golf Championships.

The agency will also create a number of bespoke events for Alliance & Leicester Commercial Bank to raise the company’s profile in and around Merseyside, where it employs 2,000 people.

Alliance & Leicester’s senior marketing communications marketing manager, Tim Bartlett, said: \"Liverpool 08 presents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to the people and businesses of Liverpool, and we are extremely proud to be involved in the regeneration of the city and in helping businesses grow, develop and take advantage of the huge inward investment coming into the city.\"

Jennifer O’Grady, events director at Brazen Live, added: \"Everyone who lives and works in the North West wants to be involved in Liverpool Capital of Culture, it’s such an accolade to the region, and we are honoured to be working with Alliance & Leicester Commercial Bank in their role as official partner.\"
