Mediacom Scotland has poached Debbie Kiely, media director of Dublin-based agency McConnells, to head up its national Subway media account.

Kiely will join the agency in early December, when she will become associate director.

Mediacom Scotland managing director Euan Jarvie told The Drum: “The reality is that when we look to recruit we’re looking at experience as well as core skills in media planning and buying. Debbie has ten years experience, has been an equity holder in a company and has worked on global pieces of business. Finding someone with that kind of experience and gravitas is extremely rare so when we heard Debbie was interested we grabbed her.”

Also recently recruited by the agency are Yvette Crimmins and Rachel Lane. Crimmins has joined Mediacom from Starcom in Melbourne, Australia and will work under Kiely on the Subway business, as well as on several other accounts.

Lane, meanwhile, has been recruited from Bigmouthmedia to work in the agency’s expanding digital team.
