David Goode, managing director of Emap Radio Scotland and Ireland, is to leave the company in late December.

As the former chief executive of Scottish Radio Holdings, Goode was instrumental in overseeing the takeover of the company by Emap and was widely expected to leave after the deal was completed.

In an official statement, Goode said: “I am delighted the integration process has proceeded so smoothly. I have no doubt that Emap Radio is now well-positioned to become the leading player in UK and Irish radio.”

Goode is to be succeeded by Steve Parkinson, currently national brands director. Parkinson, born in Aberdeen and educated in Edinburgh, will officially take over as managing director on December 23rd.

Goode, meanwhile, will continue to work with Emap on a consultancy basis into the new year.
