Nation1 has been appointed to work with Glasgow City Council on its supplier development programme.

The agency will now help raise awareness of the programme, an initiative that aims to help local and ethnic minority businesses access public service contract tenders. South and North Lanarkshire are already partners in the programme.

Public sector spending currently exceeds £5billion per annum in Scotland.

Nation1 already works with a number of departments within Glasgow City Council. This new win extends the agency’s work to the pilot initiative that is generating a great deal of interest from other west of Scotland councils.

Andrew Grant, managing director at Nation1, said: “This might not be the type of project that Nation1 has a reputation for working on, but we felt it was about time we demonstrated our ability to work on projects with a more complex construct that still require an agency with vision and drive.”
