Weber Shandwick has been appointed to manage a seven-figure PR account for the British Parking Association (BPA), handling the national launch of ‘Park Mark’ – a quality accreditation programme to promote safe and secure car parks throughout the UK.

The account will be run from the consultancy’s Edinburgh office, and working with sister Interpublic Group companies, Draft London and KRC Research, which will handle national advertising and research programmes respectively.

Weber Shandwick’s network of regional offices will manage the roll-out of the profile-raising programme following the national launch.

Further account wins include the appointment by Scottish Enterprise to support an overseas delegation to MIPIM, the premier European commercial property conference held in Cannes. The agency will co-ordinate all event management functions and media relations on the contract.

Weber Shandwick has also been taken on to provide a media relations and community consultation campaign for the Pacific Quay Development, in Glasgow, winning the account from incumbents Beattie Media. Managing director, Nora Farrell said of the wins: “We have had a strong start to the year with some great wins, demonstrating our strong creativity. The industry award recognises our ability to handle sensitive issues in the media and in internal communications.”
