Lynne Wood, managing director of Kerrang! 105.2 FM, has decided to step down from her post, almost three months after the station hit the airwaves. Wood, who oversaw the stations £5 million launch officially left the station today.

Commenting on Wood\'s decision, Tim Rudman, head of press and pr, said: \"It was never Lynne\'s intention to stay permanently. When she took over, her aim was to help Kerrang! 105.2 win the West Midlands licence and oversee the launch. Having done so, Lynne felt it was the right time to leave.\"

Wood, who was once sales director at the Birmingham Post and Mail, will leave Emap after ten years with the firm. While Rudman was unable to reveal Wood\'s next move, he confirmed that the station was currently in the process of recruiting a replacement.

In the meantime, Travis Baxter, managing director of the Kerrang! Radio network and the station\'s board of directors will be overseeing the running of the company.
