Cool work from Air: The ICE hotel.

Manchester based agency Air Advertising has been appointed by the Countryside Properties Salford ITU World Triathlon to promote the event when it comes to Manchester and Salford in the summer.

The account, which was won following a pitch against The Chase, Cheetham Bell JWT, Dinosaur, Hemisphere and Jairzhino, is worth a six figure \"substantial\" sum according to managing and creative director Paul Barnes.

The agency is tasked with promoting the event, which comes to the cities of Salford and Manchester in July, and will start with an initial burst of activity early next month. Air Advertising will promote the event using a variety of methods including an outdoor advertising campaign along with both press and radio adverts. Salford born actor Christopher Ecclestone will be used as the face of campaign.

The cities of Salford and Manchester are expecting around 100,000 crowd on the day of the event, with a large majority expected to be visiting the area from elsewhere in the UK and also worldwide. Commenting on the win Barnes said: \"This is a big win for us, especially in terms of the agencies we were up against. We are looking forward to promoting this event – which is going to be huge and a great boost for both Salford and Manchester\"

Meanwhile, the agency has developed a new campaign for the above the line consumer launch of office furniture manufacturers Stephen Johnson Plc. The campaign, which was shot in Canada’s ICE hotel features pieces from the brands latest collection and will appear in Sunday broadsheet supplements along with style and interior press.
