New group forms to market beer
Four senior executives from Scotland’s brewing industry have come together to form a new company, which has the specific job of marketing a single beer.
The four have formed a new company, named Innis & Gunn, which will distribute and market a beer of the same name. The beer’s unique selling point is its claim to be the first beer to be matured in oak casks.
The four company founders are: Russell Sharp, founder of Caledonian Brewery, his son Dougal Sharp, who was the former head brewer at Caledonian, Alistair Mowat, former chairman of Scottish & Newcastle, and Richard Keith, former chairman of Scottish & Newcastle.
