Sunday Herald scoops top newspaper prize

The Sunday Herald has scooped the Scottish Newspaper of the Year accolade, taking over the coveted hat-stand from last year’s winner, the Edinburgh Evening News.

The Herald was voted Daily Newspaper of the Year while the Evening Times was nominated Evening Newspaper of the Year.

Media Sales Team of the Year was deemed to be the team at the Mail on Sunday with Real Radio’s Kevin McAuley being voted Media Sales Personality of the Year by his peers.

Amongst the other award winners on the night were the News of the World (Sports Coverage), the Herald (Design and Legal Coverage), Daily Record (News Coverage), Sunday Times Scotland (Features, Business Coverage), The Sun (Opinion), the Evening Times (Arts) and the Sunday Herald (Foreign).

Representing the sales teams, awards went out to JCDecaux Airport (Outdoor), Financial Times (National Display), Mail on Sunday (National Classified), S&UN (Regional Press), British Airways Magazine (Magazine Sales) and International Magazines (Independent Magazine Sales). Granada Enterprises scooped TV Sales Team, with Real Radio winning the Radio Team, and Pearl & Dean scooping Cinema Team of the Year.
