Beattie Media’s London-based financial PR arm has lost Lanarkshire conservatory firm Ultraframe, its largest quoted client.

The company has decided to move to rival London PR firm Brunswick at the end of the month. The decision is thought to be fuelled by Ultraframe’s growing presence in the US, where Brunswick has a significant showing.

However, Ann-Marie Wilkinson, who heads the financial arm of Beattie Media, has hinted that the PR firm has secured a yet-to-be-announced biotech company that will replace the fee income lost by the departure of Ultraframe.

Meanwhile, Beattie Media has been ranked the sixth biggest PR company in Britain. Beattie Media achieved a 5 per cent rise during 2002, declaring fees of £7m and a turnover of £7.8m.

During the year Beattie Media won major pieces of new business from Specsavers Opticians, BT, Marks & Spencer and Rolls Royce.
