Yorkshire Forward has announced that it is to sponsor 15 places on the newly formed ATTIK Masters Degree course at Huddersfield University.

The course, which has been created by ATTIK co-founder James Sommerville in conjunction with the university, kicks off this autumn for the first time and aims to produce graduates who are more “commercially savvy” before entering the industry. Students on the course will get the chance to work on actual projects while studying to post-graduate level.

Yorkshire Forward is to fund the tuition fees and provide bursaries for 15 students. These will be decided by candidates applying to ATTIK. The 15 submissions judged to be the best by Sommerville will win a place on the course.

Jim Farmery, at Yorkshire Forward, commented: “Attracting the best creative talent from around the world to the region is crucial in enabling the creative industries in Yorkshire to prosper. We are delighted to be able to support the project.” Tim Moscovitch, of the University, added that “the next generation of graduates will have the capabilities to ensure success.”
