Supermarket giant Somerfield has given Edinburgh-based design consultancy Redpath a place on its design agency roster after a nationwide review of its design partners.

Already the consultancy, which was bought out of the Faulds Group of companies at the end of 2001, has begun working on a number of packaging projects for the supermarket chain.

Speaking of her decision to add the Edinburgh consultancy to the design roster, Somerfield’s Jennifer Epke, said: “We reviewed our design roster at the beginning of the year and Redpath demonstrated they had just the energy, attitude and creative approach we were looking for. They’re already working on a number of ambient range designs due on the shelves in the next three months.”

Richard Irvine, Redpath’s managing director, said: “It’s great to be working with another national brand. How did we get there? Well, my feeling is that we demonstrated that we shared a lot of common ground with Somerfield – delivering good ideas, good quality and good value. It’s a perfect fit really.”
