This year’s Going Places campaign, created by Clear Marketing and featuring Ricky Tomlinson, could soon be sending one more person off to pastures new.

Although, in the case of Patrick Nyland, the destination probably won’t be too hot and is unlikely to feature a swimming pool or be near a beach.

Nyland, formerly Tomlinson’s agent, appeared in court on 25 September charged with attempting to obtain £26,000 by deception from the TV star, with a further charge of fraud. The accusations stem from Nyland’s alleged forgery of a contract relating to the TV campaign in January of this year.

According to reports of the story in the national press, Nyland was arrested following a statement Tomlinson made to Merseyside Police.

He was bailed following a hearing at Liverpool Magistrates Court and is due to appear at the city’s Crown Court on November 20th.
