The World Wildlife Fund has launched a new online campaign to lobby for a change in the Common Fisheries policy.

The site, www.panda.org/stopoverfishing, is set to become the world's first 'living website' - containing an animated ocean which gets healthier or dies depending on how often the site is accessed by users.

The aim of the campaign is to encourage as many people as possible to e-mail Euro MPs in an attempt to bring about a change in the Common Fisheries Policy when a vote is taken in December this year. The Fund believes that over-fishing is destroying the world's oceans, and by changing the CFP the oceans, and the fishing industry, could be saved in the long run.

The website was designed by Manchester's Moonfish. The agency has already established itself in the field of online lobbying with a site for Amnesty International, www.stopthetorture.org. It was the effectiveness of the Amnesty International work that encouraged WWF to choose Moonfish for the stopoverfishing campaign. The site is expected to be live as the magazine goes to press.
