Last week, Burger King officially added grilled hot dogs to its menu. Fast-food chain Checkers & Rally's, which has been offering "hand-grilled, 100% beef hot dogs for over 30 years," according to agency Fitzgerald & CO, decided to have a little fun with Burger King's announcement by touting its own hot dogs in an ad on the back page of USA Today. Last week, Checkers & Rally's ran an ad in the newspaper telling Burger King that "it's time to compare wieners" and encouraged consumers to buy their 79-cent hot dogs instead of Burger King's $1.99 ones.
