Which brand and agencies will impress the judges?

Brands from across a wide range of business sectors and industries will converge on a secret London location to pore over hundreds of awards entries and make the ultimate decisions on which brands and agencies will collect prestigious awards in June, as well as who will pick up the highly coveted Grand Prix awards.

Chairing the EMEA panel is Cristina Diezhandino, chief marketing officer at Diageo, owner of brands including Johnnie Walker, Guinness, Bailey’s, Smirnoff Vodka and Tanqueray Gin. She is joined by top marketers from Dunkin’ Donuts, Compare The Market, Boots UK, Lloyds Banking Group, Barbour, Adidas, Britvic, Puma, Pret A Manger, British Airways, Tui, Unilever, William Grants, Greggs, Hyundai and more.

Several virtual panels will also be taking place during the judging day, featuring CMOs who couldn’t attend in person but were still keen to have their say on which are the most effective campaigns of the year.

A truly global competition, The Drum Awards Marketing is split into three geographical regions – EMEA, the Americas and APAC – to ensure that marketing campaigns from every corner of the planet can be entered and considered for recognition.

Judging for the APAC competition took place in Singapore last week to coincide with The Drum APAC Trends Briefing live event, with the judging panel chaired by Siew Ting Foo, global head of brand and insights at HP, and featuring brands such as The Walt Disney Company, AB InBev, Citibank, Hubspot, Ferrero, LinkedIn, Visa, P&G, Electrolux and more.

The Americas judging will take place in New York next week to coincide with The Drum Live US, which takes place at One World Trade Centre and features keynote speaker Gary Vaynerchuk. Chairing the Americas judging panel is Julie Haddon, chief marketing and commercial officer at National Women’s Soccer League. Haddon will be supported by judges from brands including TikTok, Hasbro, Cisco, Ally, Heineken, Microsoft, Sony, EA Sports, Warner Bros and many more.

Nominations for all three competitions will be revealed online on Thursday, May 9 at 3pm.

Speaking of the EMEA judging session, Gordon Young, co-founder of The Drum, said: “To have more than 60 CMOs from the world’s biggest brands all together under one roof for a day gives us an incredible opportunity to not only judge our awards but have some incredible conversations around the challenges and opportunities their brands are facing right now. CMOs have never been under more pressure to have a handle on all of the big developments in tech, data, privacy, consumer behavior and more, while also continuing to deliver ROI, so this will also give them a good opportunity to meet and share ideas with both The Drum’s writers and other leading marketers.”

Results will be announced at live events taking place during June in London, Singapore and New York.
