Stephen Waddington is chief engagement officer at Ketchum for Ketchum, an international PR firm with 2,500 practitioners across more than 100 markets. He is responsible for driving the integration of digital and social capabilities in client engagements across the agency’s global network.
In 2014 he was president of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR), leading a modernisation and professionalism agenda. Under his leadership the CIPR saw increased levels of member engagement, transformed social communication and greatly developed professional practice. This year he has created a community called #PRstack to characterise PR tools.
He is co-author of ‘#BrandVandals’ and ‘Brand Anarchy’, and editor/ contributor to ‘Share This’ and ‘Share This Too’, as well as visiting professor in practice at the University of Newcastle.
Prior to working at Ketchum, he was co-founder and managing director of multi-award winning agency Speed and Rainier PR.
