Associate professor in fine artLondon Metropolitan University
Renowned artist, activist and intellectual, Patrick Brill (aka Bob and Roberta Smith), teaches fine art and leads the Public Acts thematic studio at The CASS.
Brill’s research and artistic practice is based on his artist persona, Bob and Roberta Smith, and explores the notion that campaigning and political thought can be re-imagined as art.
His works often take the form of gallery-based installations in addition to public works and events involving sculpture, sign painting, performance art and vIdeo.
Recent highlights in Brills’ career include the 2013 launch of the Art Party conference in New York – a project which explored the visual communication of political ideas, and campaigning and sharing political thought via contemporary art.
