Italian designer based in London Martino Gamper came to prominence with his 100 Chairs in 100 Days project which was exhibited in London in 2007, the Milan Triennale in 2009 and at YBCA in San Francisco in late 2010.
Gamper’s practice engages in a variety of projects from exhibition design, interior design, specialist oneoff commissions and mass-produced product design for the international furniture industry.
He collaborates with a number of British and European designers and has been a teacher and workshop leader at London’s Royal College of Art, Ecal, Lausanne and the Ecole des Arts Decoratifs, Paris.
Gamper has received the Moroso Award for Contemporary Art in 2011, Wallpaper Award for Best Use of Colour, 2011, Wallpaper Award for Best Alchemist, 2008, Brit Insurance Designs of the Year, Winner of Furniture Award Category for ‘100 Chairs in 100 Days’, 2008.
