Karen Welman is founding partner and chief creative officer at Pearlfisher.
She works with a several brands including Dairy Milk, Waitrose and Lurpack across digital, 3D, packaging and more.
Since becoming a mother of four her career has evolved from designer to inventor – one of her best received patented creations is 37 Degrees, a range of temperature-regulating baby clothes featuring Nasa-developed fabrics. The brand has picked up a host of prizes, including the Kind + Jugend Innovation Award, Japan’s Good Design Award and double gold in the Best Inventors Awards.
Using the same material, she also launched Dick Moby’s, a range of men’s underwear.
As well as being rewarded for her work she was recently personally recognised as one of Top 10 Global Female Inventors at an award ceremony in Singapore.
