creative director
Meme Partnership
Jo Kotas began her career as a motion designer, designing for BBC and UKTV.
After two years she left and was invited to join Bunch, where she evolved from motion designer to joint owner and managing director.
Although fond of Bunch and her clients, after six years she felt the need to craft an alternative path. With her new partner Alex Stevens, she founded Smile for London – the first ever digital art exhibition on the London Underground and hijacked the XTP platform screens in 2011 and 2012, featuring work by celebrated artists including Anish Kapoor and Kate Tempest.
The exhibitions fused the worlds of art, moving image and literature and uplifted over three million commuters.
Highlights from recent years include working on Red Bull Music Academy, creating films for global brands including Sony and Bayer, and working with entrepreneurs to attract specific clients, including ASOS and Lloyds Banking Group.
