Born in Zurich Bruno Maag spent four years training as typesetter before moving on to work for Monotype as type designer in England and Chicago.
Whilst in the States he established Dalton Maag – an independent font foundry with offices in London, UK, and Porto Alegre, Brazil.
In his current role as chairman, he reaches out to educational institutions, design practitioners and clients to talk about good typography and best practice.
He has conducted research into type and emotion with a strong emphasis on physiological manifestations of exposure to different typefaces. Projects executed under his direction include Nokia Pure, Intel Clear, HP, Amazon Bookerly and Ember, Rio2016, Toyota.
