Unauthorised Indian toilet sign paints US comic Nick Offerman as the face of manliness

The face of Parks and Recreation star Nick Offerman has been helping people in an Indian city distinguish between the male and female toilets.

Offerman, who in popular culture is often said epitomises manliness itself, was chosen without his knowledge to represent the men’s toilet symbol in Madurai.

Ohio resident Michelle Johnson Blimes captured the scene while holiday in the country in December.

She shared the image to Facebook asking: “Do you think Nick Offerman knows his image is being used in Madurai, India, to label the men's bathroom?

A man, with a distant link to Offerman, promised to inform him of the absurd ad.

Offerman acknowledged the toilet on Twitter.

On his official ventures into advertising, Offerman recently narrated an ad attacking the sharing economy for vacation rental firm HomeAway.
