Facebook invites Stars Wars fans to awaken the force with lightsaber filter

Facebook is asking Star Wars fans to make the ultimate choice between the light or dark side as it invites users to add lightsabers to their profile pictures.

Ahead of the release of The Force Awakens, the official Star Wars Facebook account has built a tool for aspiring Jedis and Sith Masters which lets them add a blue or red lightsaber decal to their image.

Users can set the filter to automatically revert back to their own profile image within a set time frame.

The social network hasn't revealed how long the intergalactic promo will remain in place, but the site has been experimenting with the feature since September allowing Facebookers to support causes or sports teams via stickers and filters.
