Hasan & partners has sought to increase socializing at Eurobest, this year’s celebration of European creativity in Helsinki, by offering a beer to those charging their phone with a stranger.

The Nordic agency group worked with and sister company Perfect Fools to build the device, which dispenses Carlsberg beer when two phones are charged at the same time.

Powered by a Raspberry Pi computer, the device uses a USB hub to detect when two or more phones are charging and then opens the draft taps on the beer dispenser.

Hasan & partners and Perfect Fools chairman Ami Hasan said: “We want to welcome Europe’s most creative minds to Eurobest in my home city of Helsinki and ensure they get the most out of this inspiring event. By encouraging delegates to interact and share a beer, while charging their phones, we can ensure that not only do they have fun but also that they meet some great people.”

The social aspect continues with a virtual slot machine game that only works if users share the fact that they are on the Hasan & partners, Perfect Fools and Frankly Partners stand at Eurobest via Facebook or Twitter.

Games can be played on mobile but will also be screened on giant LCD screens at the stand.
