Jennifer Lawrence revealed she is a luddite when it comes to social media following on from the ‘Fappening’ which saw nude images of her and over 100 other celebrities stolen from the cloud.

Speaking to Nick Grimshaw of BBC Radio 1, Lawrence said she will never get on board with Twitter.

“I am not very good with phones or technology and I cannot really keep up with emails, so the idea of Twitter is so unthinkable to me.

“I don’t really understand what it is, it’s this weird enigma that people talk about. And that’s fine, I respect that, but no, I will never get Twitter.”

When asked why she was so against getting an account Lawrence concluded: “It’s because the internet has scorned me so much that I feel like it’s like that girl in high school that I’m like: ‘oh you wanna talk about her? Yeah I’ll do that. I’m gonna take my hoops off, I’m ready to go’.”

She added that all accounts purporting to be her on social media are unofficial as she would never try to maintain such a presence online.

Last month, the Hunger Games and X-Men actress dubbed the theft of her private images a “sex crime” amid calls for new digital protection laws.
