The naming of the ‘National Turkey’ has once for a second year taken place on social media.

The White House tradition, which has been passed from president to president for the past 20 years, has moved into the digital age as social media users now get to weigh in on the Thanksgiving custom.

With the lucky bird set to be called either ‘Popcorn’ or ‘Caramel’, the American public can tweet, share and photograph their vote via Twitter, Facebook or Instagram and submit using the hashtags #TeamCaramel and #TeamPopcorn.

To help make your decision you can even listen to Popcorn and Caramel’s gobbles on SoundCloud.
