John Lewis makes hare-raising Twitter mistake as it promotes wrong accounts for bear and hare
Bear and hare are the stars of the John Lewis Christmas ad... but the company itself has been promoting the wrong Twitter handles for the duo since the campaign launched. An article on BirdSong points out that the Twitter biography on the John Lewis Twitter accounts directs people towards @JohnLewis_Bear and @JohnLewis_Hare: but the accounts tweeting are actually @JohnLewisBear and @JohnLewisHare.Probably a miscommunication between people handling social, @JohnLewis_Bear and @JohnLewis_Hare accounts have been set up, presumably to avoid someone quickly taking the account name and coming up with their own tweets. This is not the only Twitter handle screw-up that people have had with John Lewis since the ad was launched: @JohnLewis was receiving a lot of messages complimenting him on his Christmas ad, which he duly passed on to @JohnLewisretail. UPDATED: John Lewis Has told The Drum that the Twitter handle was changed to the more streamlined version with no underscore to help people find the accounts.
Thanks for all of your tweets about our Christmas ad #bearandhare - make sure you're following @JohnLewis_Bear & @JohnLewis_Hare too!
