12 foot Mr Darcy statue unveiled in Hyde Park Lake to celebrate launch of Drama channel
There have been a lot of great moments in UK TV history… but apparently the most memorable moment in British TV drama was Colin Firth stepping out of a lake as Mr Darcy in the 1995 adaption of Pride & Prejudice.
Voted the top moment in a poll last week ahead of the launch of new UKTV channel Drama, a 12-foot fibreglass statue of Firth has been unveiled in The Serpentine in London's Hyde Park.
The sculpture will tour several locations before being installed in Lyme Park, where the scene was filmed, until February.
