Where am I?

The problem we address is our intuitionally racist National Curriculum. A curriculum that does not recognise Black contributors to British history. Having read the report, The Ecosystem of Shared Value, we created a collective impact campaign. Utilising ‘The Black Curriculum’, a non-profit organisation that provides tools to teach Black British History, we’ve created a gov.uk petition, a social & OOH campaign all promoting hard-hitting questions & posts to verify our message. Lastly, an intricately designed DM depicting ‘Where am I?’ as our Black youth cannot see themselves in their learning.

From the infamous and stunning borough of Dudley in the West Midlands, I am Emma Bentley, a curious hybrid creative. Graduating university with a degree in advertising, I possess a committed drive to break into the industry and work up some magic. Through university, I have developed my practical skills in the Adobe Creative Suite. InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator – check, check and check. I also have Premiere Pro and the basics of After Effects down. Developing briefs and ideas has been the fun part. I have also grown as a person, craving positive social impact with my ads and using my voice and energy for the greater good. I have a strong interest in strategy and behavioural economics, essentially understanding how we all tick. I am also a daily yoga enthusiast, fashion icon and my friend's No. 1 supporter. I wish to throw myself into a range of advertising roles throughout my career, see where my work takes me (hopefully around the world!) and never stop learning.
