Recently we marked the end of the first year of a successful digital partnership with Edinburgh based charity Big Hearts

12 months ago, the charity was working with an outdated website that suffered from a lack of ability to collect data and to engage with its stakeholders. By the end of 2015 Yard and Big Hearts had developed a brand new website for the charity, which would encourage Hearts fans and supporters to volunteer their time and effort rather than their money to support the valuable work that the charity does.

Big Hearts now has a responsive website that enables the charity to share their latest news, programme updates and volunteering opportunities. Other fantastic results to date include nearly 1,200 supporters signing up to website, with nearly 100 of those supporters actively volunteering for the charity.

Yard also implemented an email system which enables Big Hearts supporters to receive current updates straight to their inbox, to date the newsletters have an average open rate of 52.91% which is well above the industry standard.

Stephan Briggs, CEO of Yard and Hearts fan, is thrilled with the results. He commented:

Big Hearts have come a long way in the last twelve months and as their partner digital agency it’s been great to see the charity evolve. All of us at Yard are very proud of the contribution we have made in supporting the crucial role Big Hearts plays in improving the lives of its community members and we’re looking forward to seeing even more positive results going forward.

Big Hearts Community Trust General Manager, Caryn Kerr, commented:

The work completed in the last year by Yard Digital has been pivotal in most of the great work we have undertaken. Their expertise and commitment to helping Big Hearts has allowed us to engage with more families and supporters than we could have ever hoped. We look forward to this great work continuing over the next year.

Big Hearts is now dedicated to delivering a new and ambitious family-focused method which will use the power of the crest to better support as well as improving outcomes for vulnerable families across Edinburgh and the surrounding areas.
