Vodafone asked people from all around the world to share how excited they are about the new year, by uploading their New Year’s Resolutions using #ResolutionsLive.

Videos were played back in the hours leading up to midnight on New Year's Eve through a special Facebook Live broadcasted internationally – covering Egypt, Turkey, Portugal, Greece, Albania, Romania and the Czech Republic.

Building on Vodafone’s ‘The future is exciting’ positioning, the new #ResolutionsLive campaign aims to capture the optimism and spirit of the New Year to help people everywhere keep their resolutions. This mass participation involved Vodafone asking their customers to upload a video of themselves making their New Year pledge, which was then shared around the world on New Year’s Eve.

The campaign was created by SANTO London together with the Facebook Creative Shop, with Telescope as Technical Production partner.

Sara Martins de Oliveira, Vodafone’s Global Brand Director said “New Year’s Eve is the best night of the year to celebrate the thought that the future is exciting. This year we have invited people to share their resolutions online, where thousands of others rally behind them. Resolutions are hard enough to keep as it is, but with the rest of the world backing you, we think people are much more likely to stick to their goals.”

As the clock approached midnight on New Year’s Eve, people who posted their resolution using #ResolutionsLive saw videos and photos of themselves - as well as thousands of others like them - making promises for a better, healthier and happier 2019.

Throughout January, the campaign will continue with offers linked to the most popular resolutions, such as free data to swipe right and find love and money off monthly plans to help save.
