New Year, New Job? Sales & Marketing Executive wanted.

2 January 2018 11:11am

About us

We are the Institute of Promotional Marketing (IPM) Agency of the Year 2017.

We create tactical, promotional campaigns and loyalty platforms for the world’s biggest brands. Our clients include Nestle, Vodafone, First Direct, HSBC, P&O Ferries, Yakult, Filippo Berio and Dr Martens to name a few.

We work incredibly fast and have got rid of many of the barriers that slow traditional agencies back.

We pitch furiously and fearlessly and embrace the organised chaos that ensues.

We are not for the faint hearted or for those that dream about the ‘good old days’.

We are global (15 markets) with two core beliefs. Brands should add value rather than discounting; and that added value should reward everyone.

We help large consumer brands influence purchase decisions by providing on-brand rewards to every person who engages with the promotion.

We can do anything, from free haircuts when you purchase shampoo to free wine when you buy cheese. We’ve even offered free fish and chips and tattoos!

We deliver these rewards at a fraction of the actual cost thanks to our global buying power. They’re then supported by creative produced by our award-winning, in-house studio.

We then manage and fulfil the campaign with our own dedicated Client Services and Customer Services team.

About the job

We’re looking for a creative Sales and Marketing Executive to join our agency.

You’ll be responsible for generating new business meetings with the Marketing Directors and Brand Managers of some of the world’s biggest brands.

This is no easy task. Marketing professionals get sold to everyday and the agency world is a crowded market. So if you’re up for the challenge, read on.

You will be expected to make calls so don’t be scared of the phone. But, we know that the old days of cold-calling are dead, which is why this job will require your initiative to come up with new and bold ways to book meetings. While we will equip you with a phone, Outlook and LinkedIn Sales Navigator, you will need your own energy to succeed in this role and build a rapport with your prospects. You’re a marketer at heart with a passion for sales. You think outside the box and leave your colleagues questioning ‘why didn’t I come up with that?’

You have wild ideas and a creative approach to problem solving. You challenge the norm. You’re not afraid to do things differently. If calls and emails aren’t working you’ll be expected to come up with your own creative solutions.

You’ll work closely with the PR & Marketing Manager and Creative Department on targeted direct mail door openers and will be responsible for ensuring each one is followed up in a timely manner. You have an enthusiasm for generating your own ideas for the next eye-catching direct mail that will grab the attention of CEO’s and Brand Managers. Some of our most successful direct mail has even won industry awards! Think giant chip forks, a love letter and the world’s first guilt free chocolate bar!

You’re friendly. You love speaking with and meeting new people and will be required to attend meetings in order to develop your career.

You have the desire to take your career into an agency Business Development role. You want to have your own clients and you dream of the day you see one of your promotional campaigns on-shelf, on social media, on a billboard, TV or newspaper.

You naturally keep abreast of brand, marketing industry and global news and have an ‘always-on’ approach, constantly thinking of new ideas and reasons to get in touch with brands.

You’ll be working independently on your own pipeline, but will be required to work as a team, sharing ideas and playing to people’s strengths for the good of the agency.

About you

You’ll have at least two years working in a marketing or sales environment. You could be a recent graduate or someone looking for their next big challenge.

You are resilient, persistent and a joy to be around.

You don’t let rejection get you down or knock your confidence. You’re self-motivated and approach every new opportunity with a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude.

You’re an independent thinker. You have initiative.

You’re not a clock watcher and understand that you only get out of life what you put into it.

You don’t need your hand holding.

You must enjoy mucking in and getting great pleasure out of being part of the team and having fun with us too.

You’re brilliant at written and spoken English.

You have a creative flare that has the ability to flourish in an environment of like-minded people.

You are able to work fast while not compromising on quality or attention to detail.

You must have an embedded enthusiasm for creating great work.

You love going to the pub on a Friday.

But most importantly, you must be prepared to forget everything you thought about how a traditional agency works.

Working at TLC you need to be open minded, bring a real can do attitude, love promotions (as well as great ads) and be prepared to try things differently than your standard agency.

Oh and you’ll need to be a really nice person too as we’re a tight knit team.

We look forward to meeting you. Please apply by emailing your CV to with the subject line Sales and Marketing Exec
