Meet our official talent partner - DNA Recruit
18 October 2019 10:22am
The BD100 is proud to be partnering with DNA Recruit this year!
The BD100 2019, in partnership with The Drum, will be presenting two additional awards at our event on 20th November at Atmosphere Venues.
DNA will be sponsoring The Business Development Team of the Year award which will be announced on the night of The BD100.
DNA Recruit is a dynamic recruitment, search and career consultancy covering agencies across London, throughout the UK and around the world. They believe that "for years, business development professionals have been the unsung heroes of the agency world", which is why they have chosen to be our official talent partner of 2019.
Is your team the Business Development Team of the Year?
Whilst The BD100 aims to shine a spotlight on business development leaders in the UK creative agency sector, we also want to recognise all those putting in the work behind the scenes to ensure agency success. From researching each opportunity to closing the deal - we know how much effort goes into any new business success and that it requires a team effort.

We caught up with Ali Wallace, DNA's Founder & MD last week to get his view on how Business Development can transform an agency, how he predicts the future of BD will change and why he chose to partner with The BD100.
How has business development changed your organisation?
DNA would not survive without Business Development, the subtle skills of working with clients to gain their trust and understand their agency in order to meet their business needs. Getting this first bit right allows us to build long lasting relationships and partnership with our clients. I have been in this industry long enough to appreciate the value of trusted relationships with our clients. I know I can meet my clients' needs when they have requirements and they know they can call or email me when they are ready without a barrage of sales calls.
Why do you support The BD100?
I have said before that Business Development professionals are the life blood of an agency. These individuals have developed a skill set far above that of a “salesperson”, I believe that we should recognise and celebrate their achievements.
Why is it important for business developers to get involved with The BD100?
The BD100 club is a community of like-minded professionals at all different stages of their careers. It opens doors for our rising stars to learn from the best and ask questions, just as industry leaders can share their knowledge and experience and in some cases mentor those who strive to be the best.
How do you see business development changing in the next decade?
Methods of communication will of course continue to evolve as new technology is available to us. The relationship between the business developer and the prospective client will remain the same, to build a trusted working relationship there must be the personal element that will never change.
What characteristics do you think makes a good business developer?
o People person this is a job where you really do need to like people and be likeable yourself
o Organised to set your own objectives as well as team objectives
o Resilient and Persistent, without these characteristics business development will be a chore not a life calling
What are you most looking forward to on the night of The BD100 2019?
The Business Development Team of the Year award 😊 and meeting the rising stars.
